2014 Freightliner Cascadia Commercial Truck Restoration

February 3, 2017

Commercial trucks see a lot of use. The daily beating causes wear and tear that most residential cars never experience. Even for these heavy-duty restorations, ColorBond can help.

Steve Sheetz was tasked with restoring the interior of a 2014 Freightliner Cascadia truck. The inside was in dire need of TLC.

Caustic chemicals had been applied in an attempt to clean the vehicle. It made only made things worse. Not wanting to dispose of the interior, he decided to try ColorBond’s LVP Refinisher.

Steve used 3 cans of each Volvo color (total of 6 cans) and spent 7.5 hours of labor. The results are night and day!

Total cost of the project was $900. The replacement cost would have been $3,800-$4,000. That’s 73% in savings. That’s not even including the disposal fee the old interior. Disposal fee’s have become a significant bottom line cost to doing business with large companies. Being able to restore the old interior saved money (and is much better for the environment).

The  facility manager, Mark Greene was quite impressed. “I would recommend LVP to any shop that faces these kinds of issues,” he said. “The cost savings were obvious, the job was fairly simple and note the excellent OEM appearance.”
