Alan, thank you for your question. We would need to know more details to answer this question. Do you know what kind of plastic it is? Do you know what type of paint was used? Has any silicone protectant been sprayed on top of the paint? Please contact our customer service at wallen@colorbondpaint.com for further assistance.

    • Answer

      ColorBond

The best way to match your color is by your VIN#.
Call your local car dealership and ask them for the color name that was used when your car was manufactured.
Many times, they would like to give you a color #, but you want the COLOR NAME.
That name will match up to the ColorBond Paint name.
ColorBond paint matches the original color which was used when your vehicle was manufactured.
Therefore, we cannot guarantee to match the current color of your interior color if fading has occurred.
Please call the office if you have any questions.

  11. This stuff is the absolute best paint I've used on my vehicle

    ColorBond

I needed a matte black paint for a steering wheel I bought so I could add radio controls and have a heated wheel. The price I got it for was great, the only problem was the wheel was tan and my interior is all black so it looked pretty janky.

After researching I found Color Bond and the people claiming how great it was. I figured I’d give it a shot and I’m no stranger to needing to recoat things from time to time due to wear but this paint has blown me away in how good it is. I prepped the wheel, gave it three coats and installed. It’s been a year and there isn’t a single wear mark on it, you would never know the wheel was a completely different color originally.

It’s one of the pricier rattle cans I’ve purchased but given the quality and no need to retouch over time, worth every penny in my opionion. Highly recommend.

  13. Question

    Jim

I’d like to change the inner parts of my seats, but they are perforated leather, since they are cooled and heated. How would I deal with the paste during the roughing/cleaning process? I feel it would fill the holes. This is on a Challenger.

    • Answer

      ColorBond

Air-conditioned seats – if CB is properly applied (light coats), it will not fill in the small holes. If paint is over applied, it would stick to the openings where the air comes out.
As far as scuffing paste, use very little and vacuum afterward toughly. It is a tedious job. Using a brush can help loosen the buildup in the holes as well

A good rule of thumb is Door panels need two cans of LVP per door. So, if you want to paint all four doors it would be 8 cans of LVP.
