Oldsmobile Trim Paint on Cutlass Seat

Dan Mott’s calls the restoration of his 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass a passion project. The car was purchased new by his grandmother in 1968 and has stayed in the family since her passing. After sitting in an outbuilding for many years, the Cutlass was showing signs of deterioration. That’s when Dan decided it was time for a restoration.

Dan was kind enough to share his restoration project, which is still in progress. As part of this, he is using ColorBond LVP Refinisher Oldsmobile trim paint to restore the hard plastic interior trim pieces. Dan said he learned about ColorBond through the shop that reupholstered his seats. So, far he used the paint to refinish the console, armrests and seat backs and is very happy with the results so far.

We’ll be revisiting Dan’s restoration in a “part 2” segment when it is complete.

Before restoration. Of note, check out the scratched-up seatbacks.
