Unique Restyling of a BMW with ColorBond LVP Refinisher!
Posted on September 12 2019

Anthony Dixon recently sent us photos of the continuation of his BMW restyling project. Anthony says he wanted to do something different with his car, to make it unique from other BMW’s. “Everybody else paints their BMW grilles and wheels black or go with chrome wheels when they are restyling their BMW’s. I wanted to do something different.” states Anthony. Kudos to originality we say!
Anthony started by painting the grill to match his red interior, using ColorBond LVP Refinisher in the correct OEM BMW Coral Red. Being thrilled with the outcome, he moved on to refinishing the side and rear window trim. The results continue to be impressive! Anthony says “I still have some touch up to do, but the LVP worked great and looks great!!! Next Anthony plans to paint the wheels the same color.
Anthony had a previous unsatisfactory experience using another brand of trim paint that required multiple thin coats and took a long time to dry. So, he decided to search for a better paint option. “I came across the ColorBond website and saw the great results people were achieving. So, I decided to try their paint and ordered a can of ColorBond LVP Refinisher.”
Anthony prepared by sanding, cleaning, and then painting the components with a self-leveling primer. He then applied the ColorBond. “The paint had excellent coverage – I didn’t have to apply many coats like the other paint. It also filled in small imperfections (which reduces sanding prep time) and it dried quickly. I then sprayed on a clearcoat. ColorBond is a product that works as claimed.” Anthony concludes.
Of note, Anthony has so far used one can of ColorBond LVP Refinisher; restyling the grill and trim for only $16.49!
We will continue to cover Anthony’s restyle project in future posts, so stay tuned!
