Transforming Cadillac Interiors Using ColorBond
Posted on August 13 2018

Check out these Cadillacs! The interiors of both were transformed by changing the color using ColorBond LVP Refinisher car interior paint. One car was done by a Do-It-Yourself vehicle owner, while the other was refinished by a professional automotive restoration shop. Excellent results were achieved by both!
1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham – Refinished by Do-It-Yourself Vehicle Owner
Craig Jensen is an automotive enthusiast who wanted to transform the interior of his 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Low Rider from blue to white. Using ColorBond he changed the color of the seats, door panels, carpet, headliner, sun visors and rear parcel shelf. The results are incredible!
Here is what Craig Jensen had to say:
"All-in-all I used twenty-five cans of ColorBond LVP Refinisher in Cutty White #105, and five cans of ColorBond Carpet Stylin’ in Skid Mark Black for the carpet, headliner and rear parcel shelf. Once I got started I was surprised how easy it was. I spoke with Malcolm at ColorBond first, and he said preparation is the key. I used a 10:1 Isopropyl to water mix to clean everything, then wet-sanded with 1500 grit sandpaper. Then I put a couple of coats of paint on. At first my friends didn’t quite get the interior paint concept – they were skeptical. They were saying “Dude, you can’t paint your seats! That’s not going to work!” But, then they saw it turned out great. I’m really happy with the results and all the compliments I've gotten so far. I can punch and twist the soft panels and the paint just doesn’t come off. It was a fun process. I’d totally do it again.”
We have to say we think this is a fabulous and mind-blowing conversion. It really defies description. We see a lot of vehicles that have been refinished with ColorBond, but this one is right up there with the best!

1977 Cadillac Eldorado – Refinished by a Professional Restoration Shop
Team Witt Customs, an automotive design, custom and restoration shop located in Nashville, TN, has been THE shop to go to for high-end restorations and unique customs since its opening in January 2008. Known for completing the highest quality customs and restorations, Team Witt’s reputation stands strong in the Nashville community.
Team Witt Customs just performed an awesome interior restoration on a 1977 Cadillac Eldorado using ColorBond car interior paint. The car originally had white seats, which the vehicle’s owner transplanted into another El Dorado in his collection. He then provided Team Witt with a donor brown leather interior that he wanted refinished in the same crimson color that was originally used with 1977 Eldorado’s. Using ColorBond LVP Refinisher in GM Crimson #64, an exact match to the OEM color used with the 1977 Eldorado, Team Witt repainted the seats and armrests. As you can see, the results are amazing!
Of note, ColorBond is the only provider of aerosol car interior paints that are OEM color correct; currently there are 188 hues are available for a wide range of import and domestic vehicles. More information on ColorBond’s OEM color selection can be found here.
Here is what Nikki Witt, of Team Witt Customs, had to say about ColorBond:
“We originally saw ColorBond at the SEMA Show. In their booth they did a demonstration where they painted a section of a car seat. It dried in 60 seconds and it looked great! We were sold! Before the Eldorado restoration, we had used ColorBond for painting small interior areas on other projects. With the Eldorado, it was the first time we sprayed all the whole interior. ColorBond was very easy and simple to use. It went on evenly and it turned out beautifully! The color came out pretty good I think. We had painted the interior in our paint booth that was heated to help dry paint. We actually found allowing the ColorBond to cure outside the booth, where the air was about 20 degrees cooler, allowed it to dry more quickly”.
Kudos to Team Witt for such a wonderful interior restoration!
